Flume // Left Alone ft. Chet Faker

Unless you live under a rock the size of Mount Everest, you've heard of Flume. His single Holdin' On was all over the radio, it was the 4th hottest song on the Hottest 100. And, well, if you haven't heard of Chet Faker you have not lived until now. I swear that beard holds all his talent, that's why his voice is so great. (If you couldn't tell, I'm a massive fan. He's one of the few people I would fangirl over.) As you listen to this link, feel how soothing that husky but smooth his voice is.

This is the freshest collaboration that Flume has produced, and I mean fresh in both senses. The slow drum beat and Faker's voice will have you head swaying, your arms swaying, probably your entire body swaying to the sweet beat.

Flight Facilities // With You ft. Grovesnor

Flight Facilities, also known as Hugo and Jimmy, are an emerging Australian duo. Starting off in in 2009 mixing up other artists' audios to now cracking open the vault to their tuned-filled minds. With hits on Youtube of almost 16 million, it's obvious their music is more than good.

This is their song With You  featuring Grovesnor, who sort of make songs that sound like lounge music and elevator music bred. I'm not a fan, but I'll admit, his lyrics and vocals are hipper than my Nan's hip replacement. But, hey, Flight Facilities are the production and sound so this collaboration is all good in the hood. So sit back and relax (maybe with a beer) and tune into a song about a sneaky love affair.

Aplines // Why ft. Maya Jane Coles

If you haven't guessed already, I'm a huge trip hop fan. 'Huge' meaning if trip hop was Justin Bieber, I would have been one of those belieber's cutting for Bieber. Okay, maybe not that far but you get my point.

Alpines is one of those bands who are never hit and miss; they are always hit. The U.K. duo, Robert Matthews and Catherine Pockson got together in 2010 and have released 2 EP's, Night Drive (2011) and Early Hours (2012). Since supporting Florence and the Machine at the Alexandra Palace, they've had a fair bit of popularity, but just not enough to get away from being a small blip on the world's music radar. In saying that, give them a bit of lovin' and check out their Bandcamp site.

Why is a collaboration with Maya Jane Coles, featuring her enchanting voice and the signature Alpines production sound. You'll hear this song and instantly wish you were sitting in a chill lounge somewhere sipping on cider or champagne.

Artful Dodger // Please Don't Turn Me On (Disclosure Remix)

Youtube sensation, Disclosure, has done it again. This is another song to add to his list of delicious mixes. Please Don't Turn Me On by Artful Dodger (the U.K. band, not the Oliver Twist character) was released in 2000 and it was hip 'n' happening then. Sorry to drag out your Mum's teenage relation lingo, but it's true. That song hit number 4 on the U.K. charts in 2000, and 22 in Australia. Yet listening to it now, you just can't feel the dancing beans in you come alive (okay, so maybe I'm using the mum lingo on purpose).

Disclosure has given this song a little TLC and has produced his most popular work so far. The beat, the weird almost-phone-but-almost-not noises mixed into it, and not to mention the Artful Dodger vocals make one juicy tune.

Kanye West // Flashing Lights v.s All Falls Down (ALLO Mashup)

If you ever heard Kanye's debut album, you'd know it just doesn't live up to his usual standard. Seriously, anything after The College Dropout and it's a good Kanye song. All Falls Down was personally one of the most cringe-worthy songs on the album. Kanye's original production technique was to use soulful R'n'B vocals with his own drums and percussion, and personally it just makes me feel like Justin Timberlake has vomited all over that song. Thankfully he evolved into the Kanye we all know and love/hate.

However, if you mix The College Dropout Kanye with Graduation Kanye, you get a whole other sound. Graduation was the start of the Kanye evolution, he shifted out of the 00's sound and into his iconic hip-hop sound. This ALLO Mashup will make the Kanye love/hate become love/love.

ALTA

I was just recalling a phone call I had with a friend and remembered he mentioned a band called ALTA. Oh man, I have found trip-hop heaven.

The Melbourne duo Julius Dowson and Hannah Lesser, producer and vocalist of ALTA, have just kick started their music careers, and boy have they done it right. Starting off in Melbourne, they've had a few gigs here and there and have successfully got their name out in the open. The combination of heavy beats and hip-hop with the out-of-this-world blues voice is the definition of trip-hop. Their EP, Stay Awhile, has trance, blues, hip-hop, and even a bit of African wild life sounds to make one delicious slice of trip-hop. In the case of ALTA, you can have your multi-genre cake and eat it too.

Check out their website (http://wearealta.com/) and listen to their full EP. Because they're worth it.

Fleetwood Mac // Dreams (Gigamesh Edit)

Remember Fleetwood Mac? Well, if you're the same age as my mum you might. If you've never heard of these guys, think 70's flower-power, beards and baben' blondes. Kickin' off in 1967, they defined that laid back feel of music that became the 70's revolution of slow strummed guitar and cymbal overuse.

Releasing their first album in 1968, their popularity sky rocketed around 1975 with their self-titled album. Then came Rumours, the album that etched their mark on the music industry. The most memorable song, Dreams, became one of those songs that your grandparents sat on the porch swaying to on their rocking chairs. This Gigamesh edit will have you out of your chair and bopping around your room. I guarantee it.
